Nominate a Kingdom Company for Fast Company's Social Capitalism Awards
Fast Company is accepting nominations for it's Social Capitalist Awards. This year they are introducing something new. Rather than limiting applicants to not-for-profit organizations, they are encouraging for-profit businesses to apply, as well.According to their website, "this is a first stab at what will become a much broader effort in years to come. Our thinking: It's no longer realistic or credible to imply that non-profits are the only institutions that have meaningful social impact. As we wrote in last year's Social Capitalist Awards package, "business changes the world at every moment, in myriad ways, for good and ill. Decisions in boardrooms or on factory floors set in motion both staggering progress and far-reaching disasters." For more information on the awards, click here.
In 2006 Cards from Africa, a kingdom company had an incredible opportunity to share it's story with the rest of the world as it finished 2nd in another Social Entrepreneur Competition sponsored by the BBC, Shell and Newsweek. These competitions are incredible opportunities for kingdom companies to make an impact.
