Details Announced for Introduction to Business As Mission Course
The Director of Training for the Business as Mission Team at YWAM has just released the details about their initial training course on business as mission. Here's what he had to say..."Greetings from the Business As Mission team. I am writing to update you further on the BAM training we are planning to run in January 2008. We are going to run the training in Chiang Mai, Thailand. This location will provide a great experience of Asian business culture as well as being in close proximity to BAM projects we will visit on a 5 day field research trip in the region (Cambodia, Indonesia and China) during the training. The course dates are 26th January through 8th March 2008 inclusive.
The course fee is approximately $3500 and will cover food, lodging and travel during the 6 week period. (Scholarships available to those involved in full-time missionary or non-profit work)
We will be sending out application packs in July but if you have any questions now we would be happy to answer them. Please write to bamtraining@oval.com."

Justin,
I shared a portion of your newsletter containing the YWAM work to be done in Thailand with a very dear friend, who also does a fantastic job in the local ministry efforts that reach Thailand. She was very touched by the announcement as Chiang Mai is her home town.
Saeng visits her homeland 1-2 times a year to offer evangelism, discipleship training, sports camps, VBS, English workshops, medical clinics and bible distribution for the hill country villages, orphanages, and the local church.
She also has weekly bible study classes in English and in Thai for those in our local area.
Thanks again for sharing the good news. I in turn felt that I needed to share more good news on what else God is doing in Thailand as well as in our local Houston/Clear Lake area.
ybiC,
Ronald Janca

Is this about "BIG business as mission", as in How-to for 1st world missionaries? Or is it "MICRO business as mission", as in third world people creating a job that will allow them to reach to their neighbors in closed countries?
