Most Admired Kingdom Company #24: Go Africa Safaris :: Kenya
In October 2004, Go Africa Safaris was started with a simple desire. Two high school friends wanted to combine their passions, skills and resources to build a business that would make a difference in Africa. For the past two years they have been building a clientele of both local and international travellers from Europe and America (young adults, families, business travellers, etc). Last year they worked with around 150 clients to setup a variety of tours throughout East Africa. According to one of the founders, Jeremiah Koshal they anticipate the number of clients doubling in the coming year.
Go Africa Safaris is a perfect example of what happens when two people step out on faith. With limited capital but a passion to make a difference they've made great strides towards building a profitable business that creates jobs for the local communities in Africa.
They have a passion to plough a good part of their profits into a non-profit foundation that will disburse it for church and community work. The community where they work (the Masai) is in need of development-economic, social and spiritual. They have a rich cultural heritage, but poverty is endemic. The tribe is also widely unreached with the gospel. Their foundation will focus on this particular community in terms of trying to help them start micro-enterprises, small and medium enterprises (SMEs),etc.
