Nominate the Top 20 People Impacting Business as Mission Before December 22nd

The end of the year seems to always trigger those magazine writeups of the "Top 20" people, companies or events to watch in a given industry. Everything from sports, music, technology and politics takes a moment to highlight the major things to watch out for in the upcoming year.

So, that's what we are going to do for Business as Mission on this blog. Over the next few months I plan on starting a series of posts that will spotlight 20 major influencers who will be impacting Business as Mission in 2007.

I'll be interviewing and spotlighting 20 passionate, and talented people, companies or organizations that are out to move the business as mission movement forward in hopes of connecting people to groups where there might be some synergy.

Here's where I need your help! Tell me about yourself, someone that you admire, or someone that you are working with that is making a dent in this crazy world through business as mission. Answer the following questions and email me before Friday, DECEMBER 22nd.

1. In 50 words or less, please share how this person is helping to move the business as mission movement forward.
2. Please describe how this nominee is using business as a force of positive change. What technology, idea, or strategy is the nominee using?
3. What significant events, plans or new activities do they have planned for 2007?
4. What are the results, both financial, spiritual and social? How has the nominees business performed, and what impact has it had on the problem it addresses?
5. What is their contact information (Email and Phone Number) so I can send them some questions.

Email me your thoughts and nominations by clicking here.

Dear Sirs,

I nominate Patrick Lai.

1. He has started several businesses which have blessed my own community and others and he has written many articles and one book on tentmaking. His businesses have resulted in many coming to faith. He has started the OPEN Network which networks various BAMers.

2. He is using a small business model, which is written up in the book, "On Kingdom Business" by Ted Yamamori. He has opened several branches of his business in other less reached cities. The profits from his businesses are given over to charities.

3. He heads the OPEN Network which has 2 meetings planned for 2007, see their website, www.OPENNetworkers.org

4. The businesses have provided needed jobs in our areas and income for our ministries, as well as witnessing opportunities among the families here. I do not know about his other businesses.

I am sure you will be happy to contact him.

Regards,

Tinjau Sinukaban
